Tekadvocates CA Cert
This page provides a download link for the Tekadvocates CA cert that is used to create a secure connection to sites overseen by TekAdvocates. This is a self-signed cert. TekAdvocates is not in the public registries (known as "Trust Stores") as an official Certificate Authority. By installing this cert you are declaring to your device that you trust the cert (and thereby us at TekAdvocates) to authorize only certificates from computer servers under our supervision.
The TekAdvocates site itself is fully protected using Public CA signing verification. The cert available for download here is used to protect a variety of household servers where a self-signed cert is a perfectly adequate means of protecting shared information not in the realm of e-commerce.
Installation
In most cases simply downloading the cert will trigger somewhat alarming warnings and questions that are in themselves the first steps to installation. You need always heed these warnings if you are not intentionally working with certificates or otherwise knowing why the warning was triggered. In this case you can ignore the warning. You know why it was triggered.
