Seven steps to using the Internet in privacy as a respected Netizen

If you're tired of being a pawn in someone else's game, if you are drained by the continuous barrage and demands on your every moment by faceless strangers grasping for your time and money, if you just want to be left free to connect with your friends and family in peace, you are in the right place.
7 Degrees of Independence

Our lives are full of ridiculous "all or none" messages. Among the most glaring of those today is the notion that you must either use facebook (or Google+, or some other central repository) or not be social on the internet at all. Another ridiculous bit of drival being impressed upon the Internet citizenry is that any change must be made "cold turkey," there is no middle ground. Lastly, and possibly the worst of all, is the idea that it's too late to change things now.

None of this could be further from the truth. At Tek Advocates we have defined 7 degrees of Internet independence. The first steps are very rudimentary thought and habit changes that can, and will, have an impact. As one progresses deeper into the steps there are larger investments of time and perhaps money. By the 7th listed step an independent identity that can be used to communicate intimately, and privately, with real friends will be yours to claim.
